Summary
Duty Cycle
By adding a Diode across Rb a duty-cycle of less than 50% can be done. A asymmetrical square wave is possible.
Inductive Load Latch-up
A Negative voltage at pin 3 can cause a latch-up.  The Solution is to add two diodes as shown. Parallel to Load draws away the inductive kickback.
